The walls are being painted "Burnt Plum" in a matte interior latex. The Omnimount brackets visible on the front wall held the LCR speakers in my previous setup.
This shot shows the walls completely painted and a few foam tiles removed from the ceiling. The junk still occupies center stage.
The ceiling is now painted with "Pleiades" a deep, midnight color also in a matte interior latex. Voila, the junk is gone!
The tape on the front wall mark the edges of the screen - the 80" screen that is now a 92" screen. Design changes can take place any time when you're a DIY'er!
The center speaker has been placed. A motherboard box is holding it up close to its final position so that I could check proposed screen position and sight lines. Now the tape *does* mark the screen size and position. The standoff brackets for the left and right speakers are in place. The strips against the wall are strips of plywood (painted flat black) that will be used to construct the false wall.
This shot better shows the standoff brackets for the speakers and the plywood strips that will become the false wall.
