Pg 26 - Installing and aligning the front speakers
Next up is to mount the LCR speakers and align them. After reading this review, I purchased the Checkpoint Tools Sound Alignment System. The tool was endorsed by both my speaker manufacturer, M&K Sound, and THX. The M&K S-150THX front channels are known to have a narrow vertical dispersion for the upper frequencies and it is important to aim them as precisely as possible.
The "target" is set up on the centerline of the center speaker which is also the centerline of the middle seats. The tripod is on the second row riser, slightly higher than the "halfway" height between the first row ears and the second row ears.

The SA-S laser is mounted and ready to go.
This shot shows the illumination of the laser from the rear of the target balloon. There is no real purpose to this shot; I just thought it was cool.
All three front LCR speakers are now mounted and aligned.NEXT: MOUNT THE NEW SCREEN AND CLOSE UP THE FALSE WALL
